St. George’s Renaissance Project to be Launched

The project called the “St. George’s Renaissance” is aimed at fuelling economic growth while preserving and protecting important historic buildings, landmarks and symbols. The project is considered as ideal for establishing a public/private sector partnership and over 450 million dollars will be invested.

Under the project Government will work with Zublin on the following:

1. Reclamation of 1 – 1.5 acres adjacent to the existing bus terminus
2. Restoration of the old market square to an area of beauty and historic significance...
3. Reclamation of approximately 3.5 acres from base end existing cruise ship jetty towards the outer end of St George’s point
4. Building a second cruise ship jetty
5. Building a ring road from the Carenage
6. Major Facelift for the Carenage
