St. George's Renaissance Project

The St. George’s Renaissance will include the creation of a second cruise ship jetty; the building of a ring road from the Carenage to Melville Street; improvement of the Carenage infrastructure to address the problems of drainage and pedestrian access; improvement of the aesthetic beauty of the Carenage to include green spaces, and larger walkways; the restoration of the market square area to create a unique spice trading market; the building of a multi use market facility next to the fish market; and the creation of a pedestrian only Sendall Tunnel. The project will also see the reclamation of land at the cruise ship terminal area to create a state of the art, conference centre and casino and the construction of a theatre for the arts. The Grenada Cruise Terminal

With the completion of the Cruise Port, the ferrying of passengers ashore by small tender boats is history. The Cruise Port accommodates two to three vessels simultaneously and is designed with the most modern class of cruise ship in mind. The port in capable of berthing vessels of up to 980-feet with drafts in excess of 9 meters – including the Queen Mary 2 - and will have the ability to provide potable water and discharge service to the pier.
